History
BIG RED BOX was started in 2004 with a website and an idea. That idea was to provide both a temporary and permanent storage solution for the booming real estate market around Columbia, South Carolina. Steadily the market for BIG RED BOX grew into areas for commercial storage as well as temporary storage for students at the local universities. With business growing and a continuing boom in real estate development, roll-off containers were quickly added to the list of services at BIG RED BOX. Now, after being in operation for more than 4 years, BIG RED BOX stores over 250 mobile storage units within the walls of their Columbia, SC warehouse, and has more than 160 roll-off containers located at development and commercial sites throughout the midlands.

Management
BIG RED BOX is a South Carolina LLC wholly owned by Ellen Brown and April Dorsey.
Ellen, a mother of three and a Taurus, enjoys tennis, margaritas and raising her children. This balance allows her to focus on operations and accounting at “The Box.”
April, an Aries with two sons of her own, also enjoys tennis and needlepoint. She heads up sales and customer service.
Both women have very overbearing husbands and unfulfilled home lives.
The inspiration for the name you ask… much like Hootie and the Blowfish were named for classmates of the band, BIG RED BOX was named for a promiscuous, overweight, Irish suitemate from college.
